Residential Building

As a family-owned business, we understand the importance of a well-crafted and designed home for you and your family. Whether you’re looking to upgrade your space with a renovation or home addition or build a completely new home with a personalized touch, the 2C Construction team is here for you!

Custom Home Building

Existing homes often come with many defects (both mechanical and cosmetic). The useful life of its various components can be either partially or mostly exhausted, leading to unforeseen expenses. Furthermore, there may not be any homes in an area or school district you want to live in, a “showstopper” for many families. Create your own showstopper home with a space uniquely designed for your family’s needs.

Home Renovation

Many homeowners can save time and money by renovating a pre-built home. Whether it’s one room that needs some redecorating or your entire space, 2C Construction specializes in home renovation and we can help.

Home Addition

Adding an addition to your home is often the best way to improve your house and/or accommodate significant lifestyle changes, such as children moving out, elderly relatives moving in, or a new baby on the way. Alternatively, many homeowners find that not all their needs are met by their existing homes. Rather than moving, they choose to add on to what they already have.

Home Repairs

We like to use the word “team” quite a bit at 2C Construction because that’s what we are. We have partnerships with certified electricians, plumbers, tilers and more. Depending on the extent of your needed repairs, a 2C general contractor can visit your home or we will refer you to an expert member of our team.

Frequently Asked Questions about Residential Building

Whats the difference between renovation and remodeling?

Typically, the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of renovation is restoration, since the goal is to bring the structure back up to its previous glory or better. Renovating is seen more frequently in historic districts where the appearance may need to be similar to the old facade but newer. In remodeling, the majority of the time a layout is changing and finishes are being updated, such as cabinets, flooring, and trim among other things.

What is considered remodeling?

Since the rise of remote working, there has been a major uptick in remodels. For example, extra space in the basement may be turned into an office, or a fiberglass shower in the master bathroom may get removed and replaced with a tile shower. Essentially, updating any finishes in the house outside of just painting could be considered remodeling. If you just painted the interior of your house you wouldn’t tell your neighbor you just remodeled your house. More likely, you’d say you changed the color of the walls. However, if while painting your interior, you also decided to change out the flooring, replace a couple of cabinets and move a wall, it would then be considered remodeling.

Whats the difference between construction and remodeling?

Remodeling is a form of construction but when someone refers to new construction, it usually means a new residential or commercial structure.

What to do first when remodeling a house?

Know your budget, then expect to spend more. Once the remodel starts, the idea fairy starts to flow and usually a lot of things start to change, including the layout and finishes, which can drive up the cost. Imagine yourself trimming the front hedges of your yard. Sometimes it’s hard to stop or even know where to stop trimming. You need to draw a line of what you want to spend prior to venturing into a remodel.
